Mr. Kang Chen graduated from 重庆建筑工程学院, China in 1982 with his B.S. degree in bridge engineering. He then worked for 交通部第二公路工程局第二工程处 as a bridge engineer in bridge construction for seven years. Mr. Chen earned his M.S. degree in structural engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (SDSM&T), Rapid City, South Dakota in 1992. He worked as a Senior Bridge Engineer for six years for LoBuono, Armstrong & Associates (LAA), a bridge division of Frederic R. Harris (FRH), now know as DMJM+HARRIS. Mr. Chen joined MGE Engineering, Inc. since 1998.

Mr. Chen is one of the founders of CCEA and he has served CCEA as a member of Board of Directors from 1993 to 1997.
