Election
Dear
CCEA members,
It is that time of the year again for us, according to the CCEA Bylaws, to hold an election to elect a new President and five members to the Board of Directors. It is our honor to serve you as members of the Election Committee. The Election Committee consists of the following three members: Ke Zhou (chair), Liqun Ke, and Zairen Luo. We are going to serve the membership to the best of our abilities.
The election
consists of the following two stages: Nomination Stage and Ballot Voting Stage.
Each stage will last for a period of three weeks. The nomination period is from
December 15, 2009 to January 5, 2010. The voting period is from January 7, 2010
to January 28, 2010.
1. The nomination stage starts today on December 15, 2009. A list of eligible nominees
will be produced on January 5, 2010. Each eligible nominee will be asked to
submit an acceptance statement and a brief autobiography to the Election
Committee. For this election, each member can have no more than one (1) nominee for the CCEA Presidency and no more than five (5) nominees for the new Board of Directors.
The following
table shows the current President and BOD tenures and eligibility for
re-elections and elections (just for your reference):

Based on the CCEA Bylaws, any president nominee has to be a
current CCEA member and has at least one full year membership with CCEA. A
President candidate needs at least ten (10) nominations.
Any BOD nominee has to be a current CCEA member. A BOD
candidate needs at
least five (5) nominations (Attached please find the
current member list and this announcement in PDF format for your reference).

The nomination website has a pull-down list of all current
members for your convenience, thanks to Mr. Liqun Ke’s diligent contribution of

2. The ballot voting stage starts on January 7, 2010. It will
be conducted by either online voting at a website or e-mail voting method. The
list of candidates and the acceptance statements and brief autobiographies of
the candidates will be provided to all members by January 7, 2010. You'll have
time to evaluate and reflect on the candidates before you make your ballot
decisions. We'll keep you informed of the up-to-date election progress.
